How to Scan QR Code
There are 2 convenient ways to scan on iPhone. Whether for payments or medical profiles, QR codes are seamlessly integrated into iOS.
-
1
Access Scanner: Pull up the Control Center and tap the QR icon, or simply open the Camera app directly.
-
2
Position Tag: Hold your device so the code is in view. If you are too far, you will see a "Move Closer" message.
-
3
Open Link: Once scanned (takes < 2s), tap the Notification or Yellow Link that appears to perform the action.
Most modern Android devices have QR scanning built directly into the camera or Google Lens.
- 1 Open your Camera or Google Lens app.
- 2 Point the camera at the QR code and wait for a second.
- 3 Tap the Pop-up Banner or Link to view the profile.
Ensure there is enough light, keep the tag flat, and hold the phone about 4-6 inches away. If your camera doesn't support it, you can use any free QR scanner from the App Store or Play Store.
Still having trouble scanning?
Quick Setup Guide
Get your medical info ready in 4 simple steps.
Open Scanner
Open your phone's Control Center or Camera app to launch the QR scanner.
Scan Tag
Point your camera at the QR code on your iMedTag and tap the link that appears.
Create Account
Tap "Create Account" and set your login details to activate your new tag.
Edit & Preview
Fill in your medical data and emergency contacts. Save to go live instantly.
Pro Tip: After completing the setup, scan your tag again to see what first responders will see. Ensure your most critical info is clear and accurate.
Security & Privacy
What is the Security PIN?
The 4-digit PIN prevents unauthorized people from editing your data. When a bystander scans your tag, they can see your info, but they cannot change anything without this PIN.
Is my medical data protected?
Yes. We use industry-standard SSL encryption. We never sell your health data to third-party advertisers. You have total control over what is displayed.
Profile & Content
How do I fill out my medical info?
After logging in, go to "Edit Profile." We recommend listing critical allergies, medications, and blood type first for emergency responders.
File Upload Limits (PDF/Images)
To ensure instant loading in low-signal areas, medical note uploads are limited to 200KB. Photos should be clear and preferably in a 1:1 (square) ratio.
Account Management
Forgot your Password or PIN?
Forgot your 4-digit PIN? No problem. You can bypass the PIN and manage your tag settings directly using your account password through our secure login portal.
Can I manage multiple tags?
Yes! One account can manage multiple iMedTags for your family, pets, or different pieces of medical equipment.
How do I add a new tag to my existing account?
When you get a new tag, simply scan it with your phone. On the landing page, instead of creating a new account, look for "Existing User". Enter your current username and password to log in. The new tag will automatically be linked to your account.
To Manage All Tags:
Login and select "MY DASHBOARD" from the menu. You can switch between and edit each tag independently from there.
